Fetch In El Cajon, California

July 7th, 2008
Posted under Fetch

Here’s Fetch visiting Tammy in El Cajon, California.

Here’s Fetch at the park.

Here’s Fetch hanging out with my baby, Payton… as in Walter, NOT Manning!

This was Fetch’s debut performance in a local play that was called The Living Newspaper, The San Diego Edition. I was a waitress at the theater and everyone thought he was cute, so they asked if he could be in it. Who am I do deny a puppy his fame?

Here’s Fetch relaxing with an ice cold one after his award winning performance.

And I think he had a wee bit too much…

Mac in Baltimore!

July 6th, 2008
Posted under Mac

Here’s Mac in Baltimore Maryland visiting B from Dreaming in the Dark.

This photo was taken down at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. In the background you’ll see The World Trade Center, National Aquarium and the USS Constellation. The Inner Harbor is one of the many destinations downtown for tourists and locals alike. You can find everything there from shopping and food to educational locations like the National Aquarium and The Maryland Science Center. Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is one of the most photographed and visited areas of the city. It has been one of the major seaports in the United States since the 1700s and started blossoming into the cultural center of Baltimore in the 1970s.

You can see our little buddy hanging out on a cannon! Why is cannon in the Inner Harbor? Well, a water-taxi ride away, you’ll learn about the Battle of Baltimore and the nation’s history by visiting Fort McHenry. Fort McHenry is a star shaped fort best known for its role in the War of 1812 when it successfully defended Baltimore Harbor from an attack by the British navy in Chesapeake Bay. It was during this bombardment of the fort that Francis Scott Key was inspired to write The Star-Spangled Banner, the poem that would eventually be turned into the national anthem of the United States, set to the tune of a British song “To Anacreon in Heaven”.

After a long day downtown, we headed home using the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel. The pair of tunnels is 7,650 feet (2.31 km) long, stretching from the south shore of the Patapsco River to the north shore near Dundalk. Both portals have ventilation buildings, with a total of 32 fans in place to replace the air within the tunnels, which is drawn in through the tunnel floors and exhausted through the tunnel ceilings. The tubes themselves range from a depth of 50 feet (15.2 m) below ground to 101 feet (30.7 m) below ground. The tunnel opened on November 29, 1957 and celebrated 50 years in 2007.

New Beanies

June 3rd, 2008
Posted under General

Alrighty… This week I will finally be sending out the newest batch of Beanie Babies. I ran out of time to do it before we went on vacation last week.

I still need 2 more volunteers, so if you want to participate, let me know!!!

I have to take them out to get the photo and then I can package them up and ship them off! I’ll most likely get them out on Friday.

Hopefully I’ll be getting the photos from the other 4 beanies sent out in the first batch soon! I may actually increase the number of beanies out to 20 over the next few weeks so that the updates will be more frequent… Like I said, I have a ton of these things! LOL

New Beanies Coming! *Updated*

May 13th, 2008
Posted under General

OK, I’ve decided to send out 5 more Beanies. I think that 5 may not be enough to sustain a full blog.

Having to deal with snail mail, busy schedules and even the weather is delaying most of the submissions and I’m afraid the lack of updates will discourage readers and participants. For those who haven’t sent in their photos yet, don’t worry, I understand. But with 10 out there, I think the updates will happen more quickly. Also, I feel that with the blog being so new, things are slow, but once it starts getting around, things will pick up.

So… I have 3 people on the waiting list, one who wants to wait till she moves to her new home. So… I have 2 3 people to send beanies to… I need 3 2 more volunteers. If you want to have a beanie visit you, leave me a comment and I’ll email you to get your name and address!

***Update***

I still need 2 more volunteers, so let me know if you want to do it. I haven’t sent any of the new ones out yet as I’ve had the flu. I will try to get them out by Friday… well, at least the 3…

Iggy’s Pop-ing up in Sweden

Woo… the first set of photos is finally in!

This time around, Iggy is in Sweden visiting Irma… A New Jersey native, she now lives with her Swedish hubby.

Here’s Iggy on one of Sweden’s ultra cool subway cars. Yes, people, those are cloth seat covers! I can’t even begin to image what those would look like in one hour here in the US!

This funky golf ball looking structure is Globen, the huge dome-shaped hockey stadium which is one of Stockholm’s most prominent landmarks.

Everyone Arrived Safely!

April 28th, 2008

:D Yay! All 5 Beanies have made it to their destinations… Even the one that went “across the pond”. I’m not going to tell you where they are, that would spoil the fun! LOL

I’ll post photos as soon as they come in, but a couple of places have been dealing with rain for the past few days, so they’re waiting for it to dry out some!

Remember, If you want a beanie to visit you, I’ll put you on The Waiting List. And don’t forget, for every 10 people added to The Waiting List, I’ll send out another Beanie! I already have the next one picked out and she’s purrrrty! *hint hint*

Also… my e-mail for this site went kaput, so if you sent me an email and I didn’t respond, I wasn’t ignoring you. I’ve changed all the e-mail links, so shoot me the message again!

Where It All Began…

April 16th, 2008
Posted under Fetch, Fuzz, Iggy, Quackers, Strut

I’m so excited to finally be kicking off this blog!

Since I am the original location, I get to do a photo of all 5 beanies here in my home town of Apache Junction, AZ. Originally I had planned on photographing each beanie by it’s self with different desert scenes. Then I realized it would be much cooler to take one photo with all of them together, since this is where they all started out.

The beanies are sitting on Cholla Cactus with the Superstition Mountains behind them. I drove around for about 30 minutes looking for a great spot to take the photo. Unfortunately, it was a bit hazy so I had to get up close to the mountains for them to be somewhat visible. I ended up at a cul de sac with 3 private road offshoots. Fortunately, there was some cholla there for me to use. Now off they go on their wonderful adventures… I wish I was going with them! LOL
